The Bachelor of Music (Worship) at Excelsia College, an integral part of the existing Bachelor of Music, provides students with comprehensive technical, artistic, and analytical training essential for professional musicianship. Distinguishing itself through a theological focus on Christian ministry, this program integrates specific units like Worship Music in Practice, Worship Music Placement, and Theology of Worship. Students delve into biblical directives and theological approaches relevant to diverse church settings, exploring themes such as God as Creator, the tabernacle/temple worship, King David, the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the church.
Music production emphasizes practical application, culminating in a live/digital launch of an EP featuring original worship music tailored to individual and congregational contexts. The course includes industry-relevant training in pre- and post-production. Recognizing the evolving nature of professional musicians’ careers, the program hones versatile skills such as multi-instrumental performing, composing, arranging, producing, ensemble directing, teaching, and researching. Graduates find opportunities as composers, arrangers, conductors, music teachers, performers, studio musicians, and worship music leaders, among other roles.
