The Associate Degree of Music (Worship) at Excelsia College, embedded within the existing Bachelor of Music, is a groundbreaking program providing students with specialized training for professional musicianship, with a unique emphasis on theological preparation for Christian ministry. Through units like Worship Music in Practice, Worship Music Placement, and Theology of Worship, students gain a profound understanding of biblical directives and theological approaches to worship through music, applicable in diverse church settings. Exploring themes from both the Old and New Testaments, students delve into God as Creator and Father, the tabernacle/temple worship, the figure of King David, the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the church.
The program integrates practical application through music production, culminating in a live/digital launch of an EP of original worship music suitable for individual and congregational contexts. A distinctive feature is the industry-relevant training covering all aspects of pre-and post-production. Furthermore, students benefit from placements within a congregational setting under the mentorship of college staff and a church ministry team. This context facilitates mentoring, skill development, ensemble skills, planning, songwriting, and worship leading, connecting with Excelsia College’s campus ministry initiatives.

To enroll in the Associate Degree of Music, it is vital that applicants collect the following prior to applying:
- CGPA of 2.8 in High School – 10 + 2
- Letter of Recommendation
- English Language Proficiency Requirements (IELTS 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0)
- Transcripts of all previous academic degrees (To be translated in English and approved by translator)
